A Brand Revolt program
DMO Jam Membership Agreement
This Membership Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between Sorenson Advertising LLC d/b/a Brand Revolt, a Utah limited liability company (“Brand Revolt,” “we,” “us”), operator of DMO Jam, and the accepted member named in the executed copy (“Member,” “you”).
1. What DMO Jam is
DMO Jam is a paid, application-only peer-learning accelerator for senior destination marketing leaders. It runs for twelve months from your effective date and includes:
- Membership in a small Forum of 8–11 peers that meets monthly for 90 minutes of member-led peer dialogue.
- Four quarterly Cohort Summits — half-day marquee events (~4 hours) with the full cohort, hosted by Adam Stoker, with guest experts and cross-Forum signal sharing.
- One 1.5-day in-person retreat per program year, hosted by Adam Stoker.
- Two 30-minute one-on-one calls per year with Adam Stoker.
- Access to the DMO Jam library — a searchable archive of recordings, transcripts, takeaways, how-tos, technologies mentioned, and curated reading from every session, accessible to active members only.
- Access to the DMO Jam community channel and Forum-specific private channels.
- Monthly digest and bi-weekly Adam-curated content drops between Summits.
2. Your annual fee
DMO Jam membership carries an annual fee. We share pricing when we acknowledge your application.
- Founding cohort members receive a reduced Year 1 rate that steps up in subsequent years until it reaches the standard rate. Specific figures are provided with your acceptance.
- Forum Chair compensation: Members serving as Forum Chair receive a 10% discount on their annual fee for the year they serve.
- Payment plans: Not offered by default. Available only with explicit written approval from Adam Stoker. Where approved, terms are quarterly with a $500 administrative uplift.
Fees are due in full within 14 calendar days of acceptance. Membership begins in October, when the first Forum session takes place. Payment is due prior to that date. Late payment terminates the application or membership at our discretion.
3. Refunds
- Default: no refunds for any reason, in whole or in part.
- Exceptions at our sole discretion: (a) pro-rata refunds in extraordinary circumstances such as serious illness, family emergency, or involuntary job loss; (b) administrative-error corrections (duplicate charges, billing mistakes).
- Voluntary departure mid-year does not entitle you to a refund. You may be released from remaining program obligations but membership fees are non-refundable absent the exceptions above.
4. Confidentiality — the membership contract
Confidentiality is the heart of DMO Jam. By accepting membership, you agree:
- What is said in Forum, in Cohort Summits, in retreats, in 1:1s, and in the community channel stays inside DMO Jam. This includes names, specific organizations, strategies, numbers, vulnerabilities, wins, and any information you would reasonably understand a peer to share in confidence.
- You will not disclose, reference, attribute, or share any specific content of any DMO Jam session, member, or conversation with anyone outside DMO Jam, including your own staff, board, vendors, or peers outside the program.
- Confidentiality survives the termination of your membership. You remain bound by this clause indefinitely.
- A material breach of confidentiality is grounds for immediate removal without refund.
5. The four member rules
Beyond confidentiality, DMO Jam operates on four rules. Break them and we will talk. Break them twice and you are out.
1. Confidentiality is absolute.
Already covered in Section 4. Restated here because it matters.
2. No selling inside the program.
Not to each other. Not in direct messages. Not by implication. If a peer wants something you offer, they will ask. Wait for them.
3. No poaching.
Do not recruit other members’ staff. Do not refer other members’ staff to recruiters or peer organizations as candidates. The room is for ideas, not transactions.
4. Show up.
Three missed Forum sessions in a row triggers a personal call from Adam. Six missed Forum sessions in a year will lead to a renewal conversation. Three missed Cohort Summits in a row triggers the same outreach.
6. No Brand Revolt selling inside DMO Jam
DMO Jam is a Brand Revolt program. Brand Revolt operates the program and earns the membership fee. However, Brand Revolt does not pitch, present, or sell Brand Revolt services inside DMO Jam sessions, the community channel, or retreats. The room is sacred. If you want to explore Brand Revolt services, that conversation happens in a separate context outside of the DMO Jam membership.
Members are welcome to engage Brand Revolt as a client of the agency. Such engagement is a separate matter from DMO Jam membership and does not affect your member status, benefits, or fee.
7. Recording, transcription, and the library
DMO Jam Forum sessions, Cohort Summits, guest expert sessions, and retreat sessions are recorded and transcribed for the benefit of the cohort.
By accepting membership, you grant Brand Revolt the right to: (a) record audio and video of your participation in DMO Jam sessions and retreats; (b) transcribe those recordings; (c) edit and produce derivative work product from recordings and transcripts in the form of Session Asset Packages (takeaways, how-tos, technologies mentioned, pull quotes, action items, etc.); (d) host all such recordings, transcripts, and Session Asset Packages in the members-only DMO Jam library for access by current and future members.
Pull quotes attributed to you may appear in Session Asset Packages distributed to other current members. If you wish a particular statement to remain off the record, say so in the session and we will exclude it from the package.
Brand Revolt will not publish, market, or otherwise distribute any DMO Jam session content outside the members-only library without your explicit written consent.
8. Library access during and after your membership
- During active membership: you have full access to the DMO Jam library — every session from your cohort year plus archived content from prior cohorts, subject to ongoing confidentiality.
- Library content is for your personal professional use and may be shared internally with your direct team where reasonably necessary to implement what you learned. Library content may not be republished, distributed externally, used in marketing materials, or shared with vendors or peers outside DMO Jam.
- After your membership ends: library access ends. You may not retain, redistribute, or republish library content after your access is revoked.
9. Intellectual property
Your IP: you retain ownership of any pre-existing intellectual property you bring into DMO Jam discussions — strategies, frameworks, content, materials. Brand Revolt does not claim ownership of your IP.
Brand Revolt IP: Brand Revolt owns the DMO Jam program structure, methodology, Operating Playbook, Forum Charter, Code of Conduct, AI Prompt Library, Session Asset Package format, library platform, and all editorial work product Brand Revolt produces (takeaways, how-tos, curated content). Members do not acquire ownership of any Brand Revolt IP through membership.
Member-contributed content: When you contribute content to a session — sharing a framework you built, a piece of original work, a slide — you retain ownership. By contributing it within DMO Jam, you grant Brand Revolt and other current members a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reference, discuss, and incorporate insights from your contribution within the DMO Jam library and member discussions, subject to the confidentiality terms in Section 4.
10. Forum and Cohort structure
- You will be assigned to a specific Forum within 14 days of payment. Forum composition is determined by Brand Revolt based on balance of region, role, DMO type, and existing member overlap.
- Forums are stable for the program year. You may request reassignment at annual renewal; Brand Revolt will accommodate where possible but reserves the right to maintain Forum balance.
- Forum Chairs are member-elected positions. You may be invited to serve as Chair (initial Year 1 Chairs are picked by Adam from the founding cohort; thereafter Chairs are elected by each Forum). Serving as Chair earns a 10% discount on the year’s membership fee.
11. Removal for cause
Brand Revolt may remove you from DMO Jam for cause, with no refund, for any of the following:
- Material breach of confidentiality (Section 4).
- Material breach of any of the four member rules (Section 5).
- Sustained non-participation — defined as zero engagement (no live attendance at Forum or Cohort Summit, no library access, no community activity) for 90 consecutive days after one outreach attempt by Adam Stoker.
- Vendor-pitching, staff-poaching, or recruiting from within the program.
- Misrepresentation in your application, onboarding form, or subsequent member communications.
- Conduct that compromises the safety, dignity, or trust of the room — including but not limited to harassment, threats, or intentional bad faith.
Removal decisions are at the sole discretion of Adam Stoker. Removal is delivered by phone, not email. Access to community, library, calendar, and program materials is revoked within 24 hours of the removal decision.
12. Voluntary departure
You may withdraw from DMO Jam at any time by written notice to dmojam@thebrandrevolt.com.
Voluntary withdrawal does not entitle you to a refund. You are released from remaining program obligations as of the date of your written notice. Confidentiality (Section 4) and library-access termination (Section 8) continue to apply after your withdrawal.
13. Renewal
DMO Jam memberships do not renew automatically. Each year, beginning 90 days before your membership ends, Brand Revolt will contact you with one of three signals: continue, talk first, or not the right fit for next year.
Renewal terms — including any rate change per the phased founding-cohort pricing in Section 2 — will be provided in writing at least 60 days before your membership end date.
14. Code of conduct
The DMO Jam Code of Conduct (a separate document referenced by this Agreement) is pinned in the community channel and re-pinned quarterly. By accepting membership, you agree to abide by the Code of Conduct.
15. Limitation of liability
DMO Jam is a peer-learning program. Nothing said by Adam Stoker, Brand Revolt staff, Forum Chairs, guest experts, or other members constitutes legal, financial, regulatory, medical, or professional advice. You are responsible for your own decisions and the consequences of any actions you take in reliance on conversations within DMO Jam.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Brand Revolt’s total liability under this Agreement is limited to the membership fee paid by you for the current program year.
16. Privacy
Brand Revolt collects personal information about you in connection with your DMO Jam membership — name, organization, email, application content, reference contact information, payment data, session participation records, community activity, and the contents of Session Asset Packages that reference you.
This information is used to operate the program and is not sold or shared with third parties outside the operational needs of running DMO Jam (e.g., payment processing via Stripe, video calls via Zoom, communications via Google Workspace).
The Brand Revolt Privacy Policy, a separate document, governs the collection, storage, and use of your personal information. By accepting membership, you acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
17. Modifications
Brand Revolt may modify the DMO Jam program structure (e.g., session formats, retreat venues, library platform, technology stack) at our discretion to improve the program. We will not, without your consent, reduce the core benefits described in Section 1 or increase your membership fee mid-year.
Material changes to this Agreement require your written acceptance at renewal.
18. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
19. Entire agreement
This Agreement, together with the Code of Conduct and Privacy Policy referenced herein, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Brand Revolt with respect to DMO Jam membership. It supersedes all prior agreements, written or oral.
